Mashable is starting off the new year strong with seven new faces you'll be seeing regularly on the site.

Kate Freeman joins us as a tech reporter in our San Francisco office. Before joining Mashable, Kate was a contributing writer for CBS San Francisco and Divine Caroline and in 2011 was recognized by the California Newspaper Publishers Association for her writing.

In a move the Mashable team calls "internpocalypse" Mashable has brought on six of our recent interns as full time staffers, including former Mashable intern Sam Laird, who joins the San Francisco team as a reporter covering sports, tech and social media. Former NYC interns Stephanie Buck, Christine Erickson and Alex Fitzpatrick join the editorial team as writers, with Chelsea Stark joining as multimedia producer and Todd Olmstead joining the community team as community assistant.

These new hires join recent staff additions tech analyst Peter Pachal, tech reporter Samantha Murphy and Editor in Chief Lance Ulanoff.
